I work in the moment with each piece, not stopping until I arrive at a striking composition. And I enjoy working with a range of materials that skirt the edge between painting and drawing. In many of my figurative works, I create connections or hybrids of people and animals, personifying our own animalistic instincts, in order to encourage deeper self-awareness. The more colorful pieces are drawn from plants and animal remains, yet the subject matter takes the back seat to color relations and material interactions. By working in traditionally unrelated processes, I am able to test the possibilities that a piece of paper can surrender. My works display my love of creating and free-spirited manner of producing art.
